Death is a hard thing for all of us, my first experience of death was at seven years old when my oldest brother on my mom’s side fell asleep/died. My mom said, “I would see him again one day and if I trust and believe in Jesus me and my brother will have the rest of our lives together.” Many people know this, but when death hits their family it’s a different feeling, we ask why, we get sad, hurt, and some have a hard time moving forward. My family understands death in the picture above I’m in the middle of my oldest brother Nathan (fell asleep when I was seven) and my oldest sister Debra ( fell asleep when I was 28) on my mom’s side. Lost isn’t a good feeling for anyone, on my dad’s side, I also had another brother and sister pass away along with two nephews I was very close with and my mother-in-law who I loved dearly, cousins, aunts, and some close friends.
We share this to say we understand what it feels like! We might not know your feelings or understand your relationship with your loved one, but one thing we know together is we miss them and wish we had more time. We pray this song will be a blessing to someone in the midst of their hurt. God has given us all a time to live and a time to die and “IF” we die in Jesus then He says we have fallen asleep and, in His time, we will awake again, but if we die “Outside” of Him then it’s a great sadness for that person isn’t asleep, but died. In the Bible there was a grieving period and God expected everyone to keep trusting Him and move forward, that doesn’t mean that you won’t miss your loved ones, but it does mean that God never wanted us to fall into depressing, kill ourselves, feel hopeless, or simply never move forward after the loss of a loved one. May God be with you all this season as your heart feels with emotions. I know my big sister would be so excited for YOKEDink for she was a huge supporter for all her siblings, and my husband knows his mother would’ve been proud to see the man he has grown into. Not a day goes by where they’re not missed, but we get excited to know that one day we shall see each other again.
Give people their flowers and respect them while they’re living for when they leave this earth you can no longer show them, love.
Ecclesiastes 3
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die,
John 11:11
After he had said this, he went on to tell them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.
1 Samuel 16:1
The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king."
